This is my first Trailer review, at this time I think I am coining the phrase, "Trailer Review". The trailer is spooky scary Halloween with the "Spooky Lady" AKA Lourdes Colon. I first stared receiving picures from this work in progress (movie) months ago. My three year old son coined the term "Spooky Lady" referring to Lourdes.
This Trailer was well done in today's standard of movie trailers. Many movie trailers leave me with the feeling that the movie is going to be dumb, this is not always the case. Some trailers seem to want to highlight what they think the audience will want to see. Usually they put together the dumbest scenes in the movie that can take away from the actual story. This was not the case with "The Kiss" trailer. Lourdes plays a vampire named Santa Maria in this movie, it is clear from the trailer that the theatrical makeup was done to perfection. This came via her daughter Anita, who has been doing theatrical make-up long before this movie was even a concept. I had a chance to see her work beforehand as Lourdes sent me pictures of her work a couple of years ago. She even got her husband (Chris Lavoy) a small part playing a neighbor in this film. All this left me felling like an orphaned stepchild. Where was my part? I could have been "Chillin like a Villan".
From vampires being a creature that everyone fears, to a creature that is sexy and alluring was a stylish move by the director Scott Madden. They say love bites, well this is one vampire I would not mind being bitten by. Look for the movie to be in theatres after the January 2008 "Slamdance" and festivals.
